SUMMARY:PAPER LANTERN DECORATING
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, February 27th (6-8pm)\, join us at the library
  to decorate your own 12" Paper Lantern with pens\, markers or brushes &
 amp\; ink.  Take your lantern home along with a LED light to illuminate
  it.  No experience needed.\n\nThe paper lantern tradition is believed 
 to have originated in the Han Dynasty (206 BC to 220 AD) when Buddhist M
 onks would honor Buddha by lighting lanterns on the 15th day of the luna
 r year (February 12th in 2025).  The tradition quickly spread across Ch
 ina and would evolve throughout the centuries.  The earliest evidence o
 f the lantern festival is found during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD)\, a
 t which point people created lanterns to represent peace.\n\nAll materia
