DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, June 24th at 6pm\, come unveil the mysteries 
 of the pharaohs in this hands-on workshop dedicated to the art and symbo
 lism of Ancient Egypt.  This year’s Summer Reading Program theme is U
 nearth a Story – Dinosaurs\, Archaeology &amp\; Paleontology.  Our ad
 ult events will focus mainly on ancient civilizations\, their customs &a
 mp\; historical sites.\n\nIn the Golden Scarab Scratchboard Workshop par
 ticipants will use gold foil scratchboard to reveal shimmering\, metal
 lic designs from beneath a midnight-black surface\, mimicking the opulen
 t goldwork found in royal tombs.  Create your own "Golden Scarab" inspi
 red by the protective amulets used in ancient funerary rites. Explore a 
 library of iconic Egyptology motifs\, including the Ankh (symbol of li
 fe)\, the Eye of Horus (protection)\, and more.\n\nAll materials are p
 rovided.  Ages 18+.  Class limited to 16.  You must pre-register by e
