DESCRIPTION:Join us in the SCPL Makery on Tuesday evening\, August 18th 
 for a workshop with Joshua Blane - Fabric Fundamentals: Understanding Fa
 bric Behavior\, Performance\, and Design Decisions.\n\n\nThe workshop ho
 urs are 5:00 - 7:00pm and the cost to attend is $10 per person. This is 
 open to adults as well as youth 12 and older. Space is limited. Call Chi
 lhowie Library at 276-646-3404 to register.\n\n\nJoshua Blane graduated 
 from the Fashion Institute of Design &amp\; Merchandising in Los Angeles
 \, California with a degree in Apparel Design &amp\; Textile Science in.
  He has a combined 10 years of design experience\, ranging from bespoke 
 wedding gowns to costumes for the stage. Post-pandemic he moved back to 
 his birthplace of SWVA to work as a curator at the William King Museum o
 f Art\, specializing in collection management that includes many histori
 cal Appalachian textiles such as quilts\, samplers\, and clothing. Most 
 importantly- Joshua believes that sewing\, mending\, and needlecraft are
  enduring skills that should be maintained and passed down from generati
 on to generation.
