Digital Local History Collection Added to Website
SCPL’s digital local history collection is now hosted on this website. More than 15,000 items including photos, family Bibles, church registers, and newspaper articles are easily accessible. We anticipate adding more items of interest in the future. We welcome community comments, suggestions, and feedback about the digital local history collection.
There are two ways to reach the digital local history collection. From the website home page, click on the search icon at the top of the page. In the “Search the website” section that appears, type Digital Collection into the search bar and click the blue Search button. Then click on “Smyth County Digital Collection” and “Digital Collection” on the next screens until you reach the digital collection home page. From there, choose the section of interest to you to get started. The image above is an example of one of the sections within the digital collection.
Alternatively, you can hover over “Collections” on the website homepage to see the dropdown menu and then choose “Smyth County Digital Collection”. Click on “Digital Collection” to reach the home page of the digital collection.
