Marion Friends September 10 Library Tour
The Marion Friends of the Smyth County Public Library invites all old and new members to join a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Main Library in Marion on Thursday, September 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
- Learn how the library acquires and prepares new materials for circulation and cares for the collection.
- We’ll also show participants the mysteries behind the circulation desk.
- Bring your device in for a hands-on demonstration of electronic materials in Libby and Hoopla.
- See a mahjongg game setup and watch a live game.
- Talk to our experts about designing engaging educational story times for pre-schoolers.
In addition, there will be refreshments, a chance to socialize with your Library Friends, and a silent auction of local treasures to raise money for Friends activities.
The Marion Friends will be taking applications for new members and renewing existing memberships at the event.
