Mushroom Logging Workshop at Chilhowie Library

We have a fun learning opportunity coming up at Chilhowie Library during the month of April! David Mitchell, a retired physician and local homesteader will be onsite facilitating a workshop about growing mushrooms.

His presentation begins at 5:30pm, on Friday April 10th with a talk about how to Grow Mushrooms Successfully. The talk is free and open to the public to attend.

Following the talk, there will be a hands-on mushroom logging workshop where folks will be able to inoculate a log with shiitake mushroom mycelium to take home and grow their own mushrooms. The cost for the workshop is $20 per log – families, couples, or friends are welcome to share a log. Pre-registration for the hands-on portion of the workshop is required.
