Change to Hoopla Access
Effective July 1, 2026, Smyth County Public Library will limit Hoopla borrowing privileges to Smyth County residents. Patrons who live outside the boundaries of Smyth County will no longer be able to use their SCPL cards to borrow items on the Hoopla platform. Like other public library systems across the commonwealth, we are making this change to conserve resources in a tight budget environment. Other benefits of an SCPL library card will remain unchanged.
