The backpacks contain a pair of binoculars, guidebooks about birds, a laminated foldout sheet to help identify the birds you find, and a game to test your knowledge. Visit any SCPL location today to request one of our backpacks and head to Hungry Mother State Park, Saltville’s Wellfields, or the Blue Ridge Discovery Center to look for herons, hawks, woodpeckers, mockingbirds to name just a few species that are native to the area or visit on their migratory patterns.
