Heirloom Seed Exchange
SCPL created a seed library housed at the Chilhowie branch in April 2022 to provide Smyth County residents with the opportunity to grow and enjoy heirloom edible and ornamental plants native to Southwest Virginia. Any resident of Smyth County or neighboring counties can register and borrow seeds. The seed library also welcomes donations of heirloom seeds. An additional benefit of the seed exchange will be to preserve local heirloom plants.
