Where to go:

What to do:

Click on “My Account” at the top of the page:

Enter all digits of the card number and the account pin:

The top of the screen should now display the patron’s name. To access your account, click “My Account.”

Tabs for Personal Information, Checkouts, Holds, Fines, and Messages will appear at the top of the screen.

**Note** – A green dot with an exclamation mark on the “Holds” tab means a hold is ready for pickup. A red dot with an exclamation mark means that section needs your attention.

The Personal Information tab contains the information we have on file for you.  If any of this information is incorrect, please contact the library to have it corrected.

Patrons can change an existing PIN by clicking on the “Change Pin” bar.

By clicking on the “Preferences” bar, patrons can customize account settings. Click the down arrow to select preferred options from each of the drop-down menus.

The checkouts tab allows patrons to see all their checkouts in one place as well as checkout history.  Patrons can renew their Library Checkouts by checking the box next to the title and clicking the “Renew” button at the top, or by using the “Select All” box.

If the books have reached their renewal limit, a message that no further renewals are allowed will appear.  When this happens, please bring the items to the library and we can help!

The Holds tab shows all items on hold for the account holder and the status of each hold.

The Fines tab shows patrons any outstanding fines or fees and the reason for the fine. This section also reflects the patron’s payment history.

A Summary is located to the right side of the tabs block and looks like this:

Placing a Hold Online

Holds are a way to ensure you are notified when an item you are interested in borrowing is available for your use.  After you locate an item you would like to check out, you may place a hold on that item, and staff will pull the book and notify you when it is ready for pickup.  Placing a hold on an item located at another branch will result in having it transferred to the location of your choice for pickup.  You may also request the use of an outdoor locker for hold pickup.

To place a hold, search the SCPL online catalog to determine the availability of the item.  To place the hold, click on the “place hold” link.

If you have not already signed into your account, you will be prompted to enter your library card barcode and your pin number (see manage account page).  Below is the screen where the hold is placed.

Using the downward-facing arrow, pick which location you would like to pick up the book from and then click “Place Hold.”  You should then receive a message under “Action” that says “Success”.
