Children & Teens

SCPL aims to spark a love for literature and reading amongst children that will last a lifetime. Our goal is to empower them through the exciting programs and books we offer and to help lay the foundation for their academic success by partnering with local organizations to help families embrace early literacy. We also seek to provide a wide range of materials so that every child experiences the joy of discovery no matter their interests or stage of development.

Examples of our programs include story hour programs for infants and pre-school age children delivered in a variety of venues, Teen Tuesdays for middle schoolers and high schoolers, and Summer Reading Programs for all ages. Our collections include board books, picture books, non-fiction books, DVDs, YA (young adult), graphic novels, Playaway tablets, and Spanish materials.
