Meeting Rooms
The Smyth County Public Library offers two meeting rooms at the Marion Main Library that may be booked for use by community organizations engaged in educational, cultural, intellectual, or charitable activities and one meeting room intended for Telehealth appointments. The branches do not have meeting rooms.
The Copenhaver Meeting Room is the larger of the three rooms and is located inside the library on the lower floor. Groups of up to 75 people may make use of the audio-visual equipment available in this room (projector, screen, large monitor, podium with microphone, speakers, etc.).
The Miller Law Office is a smaller space which is a separate small building located behind the library which can accommodate 6 to 8 people. There is no equipment or restroom facility located in this space.
The Telehealth Meeting Room is located on the upper floor of the library. This room can accommodate up to 6 people. The room is equipped with a tablet, microphone, printer, large screen monitor, and webcam. The main purpose for this room is for Telehealth appointments and it can be configured to allow needed privacy. If the room is not in use for this purpose, it can be used for online meetings or small group meetings, etc. Note: patrons are responsible to arranging their own telehealth appointments; SCPL provides the space and technology to enable the appointments to occur.
- The rooms may only be used during the library’s hours of operation.
- Reservations may be made up to 3 months in advance.
- Provision of food or drink must be approved in advance.
- No fees may be charged, and no products may be sold.
