Halloween BOOKNOOK Workshop (Ages 18+)
📚✨ Fifth Time’s a Charm: DIY Booknook Workshop! ✨🍂
It survived snowstorms, downpours, and four weather cancellations—but this legendary workshop is finally happening! Join us at the Smyth County Public Library on Thursday, October 1st at 6:00 PM for an evening of miniature magic and cozy creativity.
What on earth is a Booknook?
Think of it as a portal on your bookshelf! A Booknook is a tiny, intricately detailed diorama tucked neatly inside a faux book, designed to sit seamlessly between your favorite novels.
Originally planned as part of our 2025 “Woodland Series” (inspired by Sibia Torres Padilla’s beautiful book, Charming Woodland Crafts), we have officially upgraded this event for the autumn season!
Choose your own miniature adventure:
- 🎃 Spooky Season: Craft a hauntingly charming, eerie Halloween alleyway.
- ❄️ Winter Woodland: Stick to the original vision and build a serene, snow-dusted forest escape.
Whether you want to build a cozy woodland retreat or a miniature haunted house, we provide absolutely everything you need to bring your tiny world to life.

- ⏰ Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- 💰 Cost: FREE!
- 👤 Age: Strictly Ages 18+
- 🛑 Capacity: Strictly limited to 18 participants
📝 How to Register: Because space is so limited, pre-registration is required.
- Priority Registration: If you were registered for this class during any of its past cancellations over the last year, your spot is waiting for you!
- General Registration: On September 15th, any remaining seats will open to the general public.
