BLACKOUT POETRY Workshop

Join us on Thursday, August 14th at 6pm, for a FREE night of Blackout Poetry at the Marion Public Library. Akin to refrigerator magnet poetry, come choose the words and blackout the rest with simple Sharpie, markers, gel & glitter pens or watercolor. All materials provided.
Class Limited to 15. Ages 18+. FREE.
BLACKOUT POETRY, also known as erasure poetry or redacted poetry, is a form of found poetry where new poems are created by selecting and arranging words from pre-existing texts while obscuring the rest. This process often involves blacking out or crossing out unwanted words, in some cases replacing those words with elaborate imagery.
Pre-register for a guaranteed spot by emailing rachelg@scplva.net.
