The Thorny World of Plant Identification Presentation with Jordan Metzgar at Chilhowie Library

Join us at Chilhowie Library on Monday, October 5th at 2:00pm for an afternoon with Jordan Metzgar.

Jordan is the curator of Virginia Tech Massey Herbarium, the largest plant museum in the state. He is a botanist specializing in ferns and botanical education. His lab recently published The Budding Forager’s Guide to Edible Plants in Southwest Virginia to help newcomers to foraging learn the basics of identifying and collecting edible plants. Jordan’s presentation will cover some of the basic terms and tools used in plant identification to help you begin exploring the green world around you.
